Eric Vidal, Athletics Director
Welcome to the Home of the AECI II Athletics! The athletic program at AECI 2 Charter High School dynamically supports the mission of the school, which is to pursue Integrity, Perseverance, Respect and Achievement. I believe through athletics we can accomplish academic excellence, a positive school climate, and student curiosity. AECI 2 athletic program will promote interscholastic athletics that provide lifelong learning experiences to student-athletes while enhancing their achievement of educational goals. Our goal is to teach the values of teamwork, pride, respect, commitment, good work ethic, sportsmanship and development of the proper winning attitude. It is our hope that through our athletic programs our student athletes will adopt these guidelines and develop a positive winning attitude that will carry over into all aspects of their lives. As a former athlete throughout my elementary, middle school, high school and college career, athletics has played an integral part in becoming a well rounded student athlete. I would like to make sure that I bring those same experiences and qualities to our AECI2 community. I have played or coached for over thirty-one years. I hope to bring experience and enthusiasm to AECI2. Sincerely, Eric Vidal COACH MARTIN
My name is Martin Cedillo-Colibri. I am one of the Physical Education Teachers at AECI 2 Charter High School. I received an Associate of Liberal Arts from Queensborough Community College. Then I received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Queens College. I have my NYS teaching certification in Physical Education. I’ve played soccer for 13 years on travel teams, for my high school, Grand Street Campus, and at Queensborough Community College. I’ve been coaching soccer for 9 years. I am currently the AECI 2 Head Coach for the boys soccer team and the girls volleyball team, and the assistant coach for the boys basketball team and baseball team. I decided to pursue a career in Physical Education and Coaching because I’ve played soccer and other sports throughout my life. I am passionate about teaching the fundamental skills needed to participate in sports and fitness at a recreational and competitive level. I also believe that when students are involved in extracurricular activities, like sports and fitness, it positively impacts them academically and personally. COACH SEBASTIAN
Hello Panthers nation, my name is Sebastian Mustacchia and I am the 9th and 10th grade physical education teacher at AECI2. This is my first year teaching physical education. I recently graduated from Queens College where I received a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Physical Education. I am currently attending the University of Concordia Irvine to achieve a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration.Participating in multiple team sports as a former student athlete has been an intricate part of my life and has shaped the way in which I view athletics. My passion for sports has led to a career in coaching where I can educate young learners with life long lessons. At AECI2, I am the assistant coach for the boys soccer and basketball team, along with being the boys head coach for baseball. As a coach, I believe in providing a safe environment for the team while building a strong family-like culture. Each player will have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills that will lead to team success. Lastly, with the assistance of sports, my main goal is to help your son or daughter mature into successful and respectful participants in everyday society. |
