Shameeka Marie Gonzalez-Gamboa
AECI Network Board Co-Chair and Chief Financial Officer of Neighborhood Association for Inter-Cultural Affairs, a Bronx non-profit that assists community residents with eviction prevention, housing services, shelters for the homeless population (male, female, mental health and elderly) and housing for special populations (HIV and Transgender). Shameeka has served on the AECI Charter Schools Network Board since January 2020 and is currently the Vice Chairperson of the network.
“When my children decided to attend AECI it was extremely important for me to get involved. High school is a crucial time for young adults; as it shapes and molds them for college and ultimately the beginning of their future as independent thinkers. When I was nominated to represent the voice of the parents at AECI as the PTO President, it was a role I took seriously as our parents were trusting me with their most valuable possession, their children. Sharing a platform where I can be a voice that both helps shape and mold the path for our children to have a brighter future is the reason why being an AECI Board member is important to me.”
